We ate, I danced, she laughed - we had fun…
Last night, my friend Jill and I checked out the Italian-American Festival at Mercer County Park. As reported previously on this blog, entry was only two dollars and there was much to see and do. Jill and I first stopped by the retail booths. Vendors were selling olive oil, jewelry, Italian-pride branded clothing and more.
Food was our next stop. We each bought a pasta dish from Massimo’s, but there were plenty of other restaurants represented. Jill wanted a cannoli for dessert while I wanted a festival-favorite, fried oreos. Both were delicious!!
We watched some bocce ball, saw performers (a Marilyn Monroe impersonator!), and checked out the rides. The festival featured a ferris wheel, a jumbo slide, swings and many more, although we ended up not taking a ride.
The great thing about the Italian-American festival is the people! We had a few of our friends meet us there, and ran into a lot of others we haven’t seen in a while. The festival will run all weekend, and it is a beautiful day. So get up, get out and go!! For more information and directions, visit the Festival Website.

Last year I went to Terror Behind the walls which is the Eastern State Penitentiary located in Philly. It’s rated one of the top 10 haunted places! Yep it’s an old prison where Al Capone was. It was featured on MTV Fear and Travel Channel. I wouldn’t bring your little ones unless you want to hear them scream, yell, and cry every second. It could be very traumatizing for them. I would highly recommend to bring your friends or significant other here. Afterwards go to http://www.GenoSteaks.com/ I’m telling you’ll love me for it - Authentic Philly Cheese steaks! If you want to party afterwards then head down to Old City.

You want to know where people are migrating to this FALL/SPRING?
LOOK AT THE AT THE STAGGERING NUMBERS FOR RALEIGH NORTH CAROLINA! - A lot of Home For the $
I did a search for ‘real estate’ and noticed a spike in searches for North Carolina. I knew about this
but wanted to see how the current credit squeeze came into play. Looks as if people are selling
and moving down south. Word of mouth catches on like wildfire and its true North Carolina is very
cheap. Many people who live in New Jersey and New York are comfortable where they live.
Some want change and thats okay! Majority of us need to stay near or close to nyc to pay for our cost
of living.
If you want to buy this late fall/winter is your best bet!
- Adjustable mort’s most will refi into a fixed rate this ’08
- market looks to be steady in ‘09
Look for 8-12% off from the current asking another 2-5% in the winter if it hasn’t sold that’s my guestimate!

Trenton is home to a little plaza, unknown to most New Jersey residents, housed right between the State House Annex and the State Library. It overlooks the Delaware River, but its true draw is a fountain called Confluence made by the NJ sculptor Clyde Lynds. A low granite wall surrounds the fountain with all the NJ municipalities engraved on it.

Our very own Trenton Thunder defeated the Akron Aeros at home last weekend to earn their first ever Eastern League title. The 10-5 win came Saturday, September 15th as the Thunder set a franchise record for postseason singe game hits (14) and runs (10) in their first appearance in the Eastern League Championship.
The Yankees Double-A affliate also debuted a new logo - which Yanks GM Brian Cashman was spotting wearing on a baseball cap at a recent game. Trenton pitchers Chase Wright and Tyler Clippard were both recalled to the big leagues as part of the 40-man roster, while their teammates Alan Horne, Dan McCutchen and Jeff Marquez are working out with the Yanks.
You will have to wait until the Spring, but a trip to Waterfront Park is a must! The park, right on the river in Trenton, is beautiful and fan-friendly, the team is red hot and the great amenities and promotions make for a fun afternoon or evening. Bring your kids or gather up some friends and make a night of it with KatManDu next door! Check out the champs by visiting the Trenton Thunder site.

Pass the A1 Steak Sauce! No need to go all the way to Edison. This old chain is coming to Hamilton area and I know residents are going to be thrilled about it. It’s going to be open on the corner of Klockner and Rt.130 beside the Home Depot probably in October.
